  Dr. April is the best. She is both extremely knowledgeable and very intuitive in her treatments. She is passionate about what she does and commits to constantly updating her knowledge and practical skill base with advanced trainings. She has a warm bedside manner and makes me comfortable. No matter what health issue I come in with, I always leave feeling better, with lasting effects. My whole family goes to her now and we are so grateful for her services.

  Dr. Johnston is a gifted healer and acupuncturist. Her practice is a sanctuary in the heart of Kona! So thankful for her compassionate care and soothing space. Her treatment was a huge help for me after a traumatic event and helped release some of the stress I have carried. She is kind, listens and understands the complexities of our bodies, in a wonderful balance of science and soothing support. I am already looking forward to my next service.

  I had called Dr. April hoping to get an appointment with her. Due to her schedule she was unable to return my call. So, I stopped by the office inquiring about an appointment. The pain I was experiencing that day was very debilitating where I could not even communicate clearly. She listened, understood, and desired to help. Her schedule was totally booked out through the end of the month...except for a cancellation of an appointment that was to have been within 45 minutes. She placed me in for that slot. From the moment treatment began, I had such an incredible sense of hope because of her calm, compassionate, yet professional demeanor. My pain level went from a "10" to a "4" and allowed me to be slightly more mobile and functional. I highly recommend April to anyone who has any physical issues that need to be addressed. Robin M.

  I have been to several great acupuncturists in my life and Dr. Johnston is by FAR the best. She is incredibly knowledgeable and skilled. She's very straightforward and you can tell that what she cares about above all else is getting you to feel better ASAP. Very grateful! Sidenote, but I love that she has a little apothecary of herbal medicine and I'm taking a supplement that she made herself, it's excellent. For anyone looking for help with perimenopause stuff: I'm 44, began to notice an exaggerated stress response, was feeling constantly exasperated and easily irritated. I also had been dealing with burnout I couldn't shake and hadn't been able to do my client work for several months when It finally dawned on me it might be hormonal. Within the first treatment, she took my stress level down from a 10 to a 2 and I was able to get back to doing my job. So thankful to have her on the Big Island!
